Hi,
Is DIANA able to analyze a masonry wall under cyclic loading?
I used DIANA v9.2 to analyze confined masonry walls under monotonic load by macro model. Now I want to analyze them under cyclic loading but I can't find anything in the manuals about cyclic behavior of masonry material including degradation. Is it possible to do such analysis in DIANA?
Could you please help me in this regard?

SIr,
I am at learning stage of masonry modelling. Pl accept my request, and share your model file to learn how you have attempted the problem

Masonry under cyclic loading
Hi, I also use DIANA v9.2, and I would like to analyze the masonry under variational loading, which is similar to your question. Have you found how to add cyclic loading by Diana? If so, could you please tell me how to add the load? Thank you very much.
Kind regards,
Summer
Cyclic loading
You can find an Example for cyclic loading on a RC wall in DIANA manuals (Examples).
If you are looking for a proper material model that considers all aspects of cyclic behavior, you need to use a user subroutine. Dr. Oliveira has performed a research and published a thesis report in this regard.
A more simple way is using hysteretic model of “Discrete Crack” interface. The drawback is that the compressive behavior is linear elastic.
